Suspend 44.4 gms. of B189 in 1000 ml. distilled water. Boil with frequent stirring to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121°C) for 15 minutes. Cool to 45°C and add 5-10% v/v sterile defibrinated blood if desired.The blood may be chocolated by heating, of chocolate agar plates are required. |
